Ford either decided that a) our cars will never make it to 100k, or b) that’s silly, ofcourse they won’t.
So, it rolls over at 99.999 and resets. Effectivly giving me a brand new car.
Now to find somebody to sell it to...

Rub some tire shine on rubber bits under the hood, wax it. Sell it on Bring a trailer for millions. Laugh on your way to the bank.
Remind me to not buy this car on BAT (not that there is anything wrong with the car)

Hahaha I love that Ford did this. My buddy has an ‘89 Fox Body and when he bought it was like holy shit how does this thing only have 22k miles on it! Especially considering the speed holes in the floorboards and overall condtion (and that he found it for like $800) I was slightly skeptical. That was the day I discovered odometers were not always 6 digits.
I also chuckled at the thought that Ford didn’t believe a car could make it to 100k.

VW did somethign similar, they roll the display over at 300k, but you can tell because they stop saying “total” on the display aswell.

That’s even sillier since there is no real reason to do that. Like sure, most cars won’t make it to 300k+ anyways but there is no cost savings by not bothering to include the 4-9 numbers there.

Auto manufacturers man, it’s like they don’t make sense. Whoda thunk?
